    Whilst the bids are priced at $/MWh, that is for nominal nameplate capacity. Given windfarms only operate at about 30-35% of nameplate capacity effective price will be about 3 times the bid price to achieve equivalent output.
    The one universal truth is that the open market never lies when determining the value of anything. Remove all subsidies and then see what technology survives. Remember the real world is not here in Australia, rather it is in those countries where all the coal fired stations are being built by private enterprise without subsidies in order to supply reliable and cheap power to hundreds of millions of people just waiting to have the opportunity to move up the development ladder and provide goods and services cheaper than those other countries burdened by high power prices, with Australia currently about the highest in the world.
