A couple of thoughts for hydro.
Not all hydro is pumped storage hydro.
Some power is also generated from water releases.

With the SA battery not all of it appears in the market.
The 100MW (at the connection) battery has two connections.
70MW is contracted to the State Government for 10 years to provide grid stability and security services.

It's there to help mitigate the need for load shedding in the case of an emergency and recently bid into the frequency and Ancillary Services market for a specific planned event at a lower price than was previously charged.
Adding competition reduced the price for that service by being available to supply frequency control services within SA when a usual supplier was going to be unavailable due to a planned outage.

The other 30MW is used by the adjacent wind farm and appears on the NemWatch widget.
The windfarm that supplies electricity to the ACT under a long term contract seems to use it's part of the battery to play the arbitrage game.

The operator has supplied a widget at the following link for the Hornsdale power Reserve showing it's activity.
