I certainly think your being generous re Avita at 2012. The article highlighting the benefits of a $9k grant kind of says it all. Looking at the CEO's Linkedin (https://www.linkedin.com/in/saiprasadp/) I get the impression its a one man band, of a young (I would say late 20's) ambitious bloke with an engineering background, whose job hopped a lot and fell into this concept.
I have no doubt that Avita has serious competition and that copy cats will come out of the wood works but Pacify Medical is not one of them.
