    NEXTDC (indeed most companies) build their data centres to immense levels of redundancy. That's why they cost so much - they are quake resistant, they are built to operate for days without any water or power input from outside, they are resistant to 100 year floods, and even then there are contingencies for those events.

    They are built to handle a bush-fire, with air systems to operate on recirculation mode. They are built to deal with a catastrophe in any area, with all areas segregated by fire rated structure. The internal electrical systems are multiple redundant so the chance of a fault causing a shutdown is absolutely minimised. Same for the mechanical services systems.

    They are, honestly, a pain in the arse to build.

    I just finished one data centre, about to start another.

    Nothing short of a nuke is going to stop one of those things.
