Vocus were after a fibre network, and they got what they wanted with Nexgen .... NXT has no network. ... the data centres were secondary to their aims.
Two things with regards to that: Vocus don't need particularly large data centres, and to be honest, the Nextgen centres are not that flash, certainly not in the same league as NXT. They really are just end points for the fibre network that they service.
