A bit of an aged report... but cConsidering that Digital Realty is top 3 of data centre / colocation service companies in the world... it is a very real threat.
IMO - Covid-19 has presented such a dramatic shift in digital uptake - a revolution of how we store, access and use data - I feel there is currently plenty of scope to allow co-existence before any real cannibalism occurs between data centre providers... there has simply been a dramatic increase in demand which has not yet been satisfied...
Prior to Covid - M2 still had capacity... now we are talking M3 & M4!
Considering their size though... you would be crazy to rule out DR or Equinix from ever passing the rule of NXT... until the time comes where an offer is on the table, or NXT data centres start increasing vacancy rates - business as usual!
