These guys are reading too many conspiracy articles. They create myths about Murdoch. They must not know anything about his history - he backs who he thinks is best regardless of their politics. He backed Blair, he backed Howard, he later backed Rudd.
In a simplistic attempt to work out why Murdoch dropped off Rudd he didn't bother mentioning his manic behavior and disfunctional government, no, it was all due to an article in The Monthly and the short lived Rudd Mining Tax.
"Of course, then Rudd started playing up.
He wrote a piece in The Monthly decrying neo-Liberalism.
Then he decided to implement a tax on miners’ absurd profits during the height of the mining boom; well, that was enough for Rupert. The News Ltd papers turned sour."
Throw in a few sly comments such as his dual nationality, suggest that the UK hacking activities could be going on here, make mileage out of Murdoch's The Australian not being profitable and you start to think Murdoch is some sort of devil. Tell us that he has Abbott in his pocket - that works.
Maybe he is anti the current PM because she has done a bad job? Maybe he thinks she took power from a first term PM when she had no right to? Maybe he thinks she's lacking in judgement, over commits the budget, introduces taxes that nobody believes in, has a "tin ear" rather than him having a devious plan for world power?
It's classic shoot the messenger.
