Hi WF
Some really interesting points there...thanks very much for posting. The scientific side of the operations seems very interesting and it seems a lot of the more science focused posters seem to favour the yellow tail over the bluefin operations. But why is that? I think it is because the technology is already proven for the yellow tail, which means less risk, and plenty of scope for ongoing scientific analysis, breeding study, and fine tuning. Let's face it - yellow tail is the less risky bet.
I guess the question we need to ask as investors is why is the bluefin operation getting more air time/resources than the yellow tail? I think the answer lies in the company/shareholder value the bluefin operation will create. The market demand for southern bluefin is simply enormous and a monopoly on the product can be achieved if the company can breed commercial quantities. IMHO of course.
I think the yellow tail operation is terrific and will be another string in the CSS bow, providing positive cashflow in FY10 hopefully - almost an insurance policy at this stage. But the SBT is the jewel in the crown...by the way the stock has been acting I think most shareholders agree with me and are placing their bets according to their attitudes to risk.
Less spin and more solid information is always good but it's the scarcity of details combined with the enormous potential of SBT that creates the upside in this stock. IMHO the yellow tail will not provide this upside.
I see this as a speculative stock - the upside is closely linked with info about the SBT ops. Waiting for absolutely undisputable facts is a-ok, but price upside will be lost by doing so - that's the game. Getting frustrated with a speculative stock for being speculative seems a waste of time - those of us who need more information in order to make a decision will just have to wait I guess.
Please post again WF if you have any further info on the science side - it's really interesting.
Puff.
