when looking at plant capacity when we did valuations we worked on plant availablity 80% multiplied by tons per hour multipled by 7000

7000 being a figure for yearly production and taking out public holidays but otherwise working a 24/7 shift there is also a small factor for skrew ups in that 7000 figure

I used this figure in the USA for Steel mills, (posco) pulp and paper mills (sierra pacific), fibreglass plants (knopf) for both prodiction rate and feed input.
Saves a lot of confusion using a common metric
