ARC Energy Limited advises that the operation at 06:00 hours WST at the gas exploration and appraisal well Corybas 1, was pulling tubing out of hole following Drill Stem Test 1. Since the last report, the well has been drilled to 2459m and core 1 cut over the interval 2441 2459m with 99% recovery. DST 1 was conducted over the interval 2425 ­ 2459m and resulted in a stabilised gas flow of approximately 0.1 mmcfd through a 1/4 inch choke with 40 psi surface pressure. The well will now be deepened to evaluate other potentially gas bearing zones within the Irwin River Coal Measures and High Cliff Sandstone.....

Executive Director's Comment
"The result is in line with our expectations for the tested zone and has demonstrated for the first time the ability of the Upper Irwin River section to free flow gas from the Elegans gas accumulation. The results give encouragement that the systematic evaluation process being undertaken will give us the data we need to evaluate the commercialisation potential of the Elegans resource. The process will now be repeated for the next zone in the Lower Irwin River section."
