I am intrigued by the title of this thread.

As I see it, compared to the long list of demonstrated incompetence of this Rudd/Gillard/Brown/Oakshott/Windsor Government, the only "failure" that John Howard can be held responsible for is losing the election that caused the incompetent socialists to reign down upon us all.
