what any sane member of Parliament would be doing is working on PREVENTING the next war
it's clear that there's friction with China ----------- it's also clear that the USA -- our 'supposed' friend - is not helping
it's also clear that our supposed friend might be the first to fire shots at China
it's not clear how China would respond
What is clear is that every time Australia has gone to the coat tail wars with the USA (our friend) since WW2 ----------- we have lost
as has the USA
what is history that might not be repeated if the idiotic USA does fire on China - is that China might be different to all the others -
China might attack - they well may attack Australia
(I couldn't give a poo if they attacked America)
now - that's different for Oz
If one studies all of the conflicts that the USA has been in and lost since WW2 -
what should be obvious is that it would have been far cheaper and more peaceful to leave things alone
now - if one cannot leave things alone because one is an interfering world policeman -
then - a wise course would have been to ask the bad guys what exactly they wanted -------------------- and, allow them to have it - without having 20 year wars and losing anyway.
So to China ------------------- what do they want ??
I suggest they might want Taiwan and they might want to control the shipping lanes for peaceful trade - as is their very very very long history -
so - a wise course of action would be -------------- allow them to have it
either that - or fight either a war that America and Australia cannot possibly win - at the potential cost of Australia actually being seriously attacked - and, perhaps even America being attacked on it's own soil
we need to learn - if the might of America with some little helpers couldn't beat Vietnam -then, they sure as poo won't be able to beat China
Hastie should well know that the Australian Infantry goes into a fight wanting odds in it's favour ----------- about 3:1 min.. - not smart to go in otherwise
for Oz to be in a fight with China - the odds are about a bazillion to 1 ------- their favour
Oz would be no more than a little political chip in the game - and, at the same time on the way to a monster defeat --------- we'd of course lose trade
going to be a really really bad scene if we go with our 'friend'
