So, mistyrains refers to the issue of child abuse of children in Detention Centres as, "absurd".
In Queensland, the Forde Commission of Inquiry, and the Crime and Misconduct commission of Inquiry into Child Sexual assault, both commissioned by the State Government (Labor), came up with disturbingly similar findings.
That was, that children who detained in Detention Centres, were at a much higher risk of suffering child sexual abuse.
As a consequence, the State Labor government, quite rightly, dismantled the structures for "detaining" children in their care (DOCS) in detention type centres.
Now we have a Federal Labor government who, in 2010, still sanctions the detention of children for excessively long periods of time. This is unacceptable practice.
Labor has created the problem of massive increases of unlawful entrants, so they should be required to fix it so that children are not put at undue risk of abuse.
Why is that so unacceptable to Labor supporters?
Labor is in government, so fix the issue. Or, is that, "absurd"?
