@Scott th Ratbag; thanks for your response, it's my assessment that a root cause of Australia's DV is decades of miserable failure by our criminal justice systems.
To save money and to emasculate the bureaucracy our pollies out-sourced prisons, support services and under-resourced policing. It's a mess.
Police and those claiming to be victims of crime now have to front very hostile courts and high powered legal teams dedicated to casting slurs, interrogating victims with salacious allegations and allowing endless subsequent 'appeals' even if a jury convicts them.
Our criminal justice systems largely ignore the safety of individuals and communities as they instead focus on the rights of the accused to a 'fair trial' based on 'the presumption of innocence' and feeding Australia's legal services sector.
