So it makes no sense to you to allow higher IO prices flow through to the bottom lines of the majors and therefore the share prices allowing investors to take profits and keep cash for next low and management (and here's a catch) to save cash for next IOP low?

You need to check in somewhere and clear your head!
Far better replace management with people that can preserve cash in the good times to prepare for the bad.
Instead of controlling the IOP so you never have the extra cash in the first instance!
