The point is that in countries like the UK which are now opening up people are still dying of Covid each day and because of their half baked restrictions in the past there have been over 150,000 Covid recorded death certificates in the UK. We dont want that here as given our vaccination rates are so low without lockdowns our people would be at great risk.
We had things under control in Australia but the Morrison govts failure on quarantining and vaccines could cause many Australians to die, if lockdowns were not imposed.. As it is, even with the knowledge of past experience, quarantine failure has caused another major outbreak and NSW is experiencing deaths because of that. If there was no lockdown the deaths would be far greater.
We don't want to become like the UK. We want our population to be safe and not die because of the govts failure in their two areas of responsibility.
