This thread has absolutely nothing to do with the Liberals stance on so-called "gay marriage".

It has everything to do with whether the mavericks in the ALP will have the gonads to do what they're saying - or whether they're "gunners". As it is, Crean, Carr, Fitzgibbon etc - even McClelland, are as weak as. They say they can't or won't serve in a Gillard cabinet but will serve her bidding on the backbench, ticking off on the disastrous policies they say they don't support! Add Rudd to this lot as well.

So far, the mavericks are serving these interests, in this order:
    1. their own [to keep a job]
    2. the Party's [so they are not knee-capped] and
    3. the interests of the nation, a distant third.

They are all weak men. If they had some courage, they would have all resigned from parliament two weeks ago. If they had courage now, they'd announce that, as a bloc, they will vote against the proposed attack on super if it comes before the House. Then, and only then, would they deserve some respect. Until then, they're just Gunners.
