1257 [Dow Jones] Suncorp (SUN.AU) chief John Mulcahy concedes M&A third party rumors, which would nix A$7.9b friendly takeover of Promina (PMN.AU) have hit SUN shares of late. While Mulcahy surmizes those rumors "have now gone", investors not convinced with SUN off 5% and Promina at A$6.95 vs A$7.65 equivalent offer price. Mulcahy and PMN counterpart Mike Wilkins tightlipped when asked if they've had any approaches to scuttle merger. Chance of ACCC rejection also weighs on SUN shares. (IGP)
