i was having lunch today with a friend that runs a small family building company. We were talking about the current costs, and he was saying that to build a quality 3-bedroom X two-bathroom home on a level site is now close to $1 million. And therein lies the problem for building public (and private) housing. That alone (cost) will make it almost impossible to solve the current housing deficit and continue to elevate the price of existing homes in Oz for years to come. People sleeping in cars and tents - we aint seen nothing yet.
