This is pretty interesting, Fonterra just weighed in on the discussion...
"In separate submissions to the Australian Competition Tribunal, New Zealand's Fonterra and the Italian-owned Parmalat Australia have described aspects of Murray Goulburn's public interest argument as "highly speculative" and warned that some of its claims needed to be viewed "sceptically".

Seeing as they own a sizeable chunk of Bega, this could be viewed that they would not favour Bega giving their WCB-shares to Murray Goulburn.
