If I were an evil greedy executive, and I wanted to make bulk cash by from loyal investors. I'd steal my own rubies, sell them under the table at an auction (causing poor "official" auction sales). Take the loot and get a friend to buy up big in the ASX listing that I had just destroyed and wait for it to bounce back after I leave and someone else comes to restore confidence.

Not saying at all this is how it was done. But if it were my ploy, it would go something like that.
