Poseidon Nickel Ltd is an ASX listed nickel sulphide exploration and development Company based in Perth with a strong resource base across three ‘production ready’ assets in the highly prospective Goldfields region of Western Australia. We are currently forming our team at our Lake Johnston Nickel Operation as we undertake a refurbishment of the plant and underground mine and prepare to gear up for production. This is an amazing start up opportunity for people who wish to share in our story from the beginning. As an important member of the site management team, we will value your leadership in creating a zero harm culture across site. The Opportunity Reporting to the General Manager Lake Johnston Nickel Operations, this is a site based role that has responsibility for safety, environment, training, medic services, emergency response and injury management. You will be responsible for:

• Championing and leading the implementation of a safety program with site personnel as we scale up
• Identifying, developing and driving processes and systems across your portfolio
• Appointing and guiding a small team of HSE/Medic personnel
• Providing specialist advice and influence across all operational areas both internal and external, including regulatory bodies and mining contractors
• Managing site inductions
• Leading environmental programs and compliance
• Establishing site medic services and an emergency response team
• Taking an active and hands on role in pre-start and toolbox meetings and with all personnel on site
  The Person The qualities we seek in you are:
  • Tertiary or Diploma level qualification in OHS or significant relevant experience
  • Certificate IV Trainer and Assessor
  • A minimum of 5 years as a Health and Safety Superintendent or equivalent level role in underground mining
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the environmental portfolio is preferred
  • Previous experience in a small to mid-scale company during start-up phase is highly desirable
  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety standards, legislation and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence stakeholders in the creation of a positive safety culture
  • Excellent people management skills
