If the Indonesians stay out of the market and the Chinese move towards a consumer market rather than one dominated by construction then Nickel should recover strongly over next year. You won't find any technical evidence for the above assumption so you don't see the opportunity. Analysts are suggesting 9c a share revenue next year. risk/reward.

Sure if POS SP does start to move because the above is true, even your analysis will have you on the band wagon as well but at a higher entry point. Then you can trade boner, beer and peanut jokes with the boys. If not, that is the risk/reward profile I have chosen and I am comfortable to live with it.
