hi harlee , well my pov is china will end up taking the resource.. i think Rio and Namibia government will be pleased if thats an outcome, my view is a bit more larger than just concentrating on the dollar signs for a jv or a rio takeover.
over several years there has grown a huge elephant in the room of the rio rossing mine, that is the Iranian government stake... to me the synergies of china hopping into bed through a jv with the rossing mine would be the best outcome from a trade policy perspective.
china has a view of other countries that is more about its resources than its internal and external policy, with china having an indirect interest in the rossing mine operations it negates a potential future downsize trade risks of the Iranian government presence.
anyhow thats my personal pov.
