I always find in ironic how church going nearly all islanders are, yet their assaults can often be very vicious with head stomping being part of it.
A bloke like John Hopoate is a devout Christian, is known to be a great father and a good bloke, yet he has a very poor disciplinary record and has been involved in a few assaults.
That is not to say church going Catholics/Christians of other races aren't just as guilty as at times.
I suppose, you can assault someone, confess your sins and the slate is wiped clear. Religion is a joke at times.
I feel for the cabbies. It is a tough job as it is without having to worry for your safety all of the time. I often wonder if they are properly trained in avoiding confrontational circumstances. Get the wrong type of person in your cab, combine that with a breakdown in communication and things can escalate.
