That's exactly what presentations are all about, creating investor interest by getting the story out and yes of course they are used to support the stockprice. That however is just one aspect expected of management these days, to criticize them for making presentations is quite frankly ludicrous.

As a rule I find that management tend to step up the publicity machine just prior or post to an official announcement of something significant to get some increased momentum. Whether that's the case here, well, we'll have to see.
