Alcoa have been in trouble for some time. They have been battling a downturn in the price of Aluminum. And as Processing bauxite is one of the most energy intensive industries there is, the carbon tax hit them hard.I guess all that carbon tax compensation couldn't keep the ball rolling.The unions may have played their part, but the terrible policies of the last government and the inevitable price cycles of commodities are to blame here.
