Interesting article. Suggests that Labor will pursue carbon tax as main way of appeasing Greens, whilst resisting the Green's absolute call for the phasing out the coal. They also mention carbon sequestration, which I think is a furphy. But it does suggest that technological solutions to reducing the carbon intensity of coal will be encourage, or more importantly for UCG, not blocked on spurious grounds.
Carbon price plus encouragement of technological soluation = good news for UCG.
