There was no sin in the story. A story where an Omniscient Being with full knowledge of how it would go, a naive couple were set up to innocently make what is a minor mistake. For which they were condemned, not only them but the whole world and all the generations that followed.
A description of a God of Love, understanding or justice? Hardly.
