The state of being, NAKED in Genesis was a state of innocence, in that we were once animals, not responsible for actions that were cultural, instinctive, survival of the fittest, so to speak. The male lion stealing the food from the lionesses who did the hunt and made the kill. The male lion is innocent because that's how instinctive lion culture works. Humans, also lived in an age not dissimilar in that theft, violence, etc were just normal aspects of a primitive culture.

The NAKEDNESS in Genesis refers to an age when humans had eaten from the Tree of Good and Evil, in other words humans had evolved, developed, socially matured to a point in which they were not responsible for actions that our primitive ancestors were not responsible for. In other words their actions were clear to God and their actions then had consequence.

The Genesis tale has nothing to do with literal nakedness, it is about the fact that every action is seen and has consequences, Biblically speaking.
