Musing over a bowl of porridge is fine, and even to be recommended.
Where I have a problem is where people present their musings as undisputed fact.
These musings are often presented as binary options in which only extremes are recognized as being valid.
Examples:
The universe and the existence of intelligent life can only be the result of one of two process.
They exist because the equivalent of a tornado ripping through a junk yard assembled a Boeing 747 or a super being whose intellect and abilities far exceeds creation just happened by magic to pre-exist. Each of these options is just as unlikely.
Life developed through a process driven by brute strength alone (altruistic behaviour is discounted) or it developed as a result of a work of a pre-existing creator.
