I suspect that JWs view Watchtower (and by implication the Governing Body) as Jehovah himself.

Why?
Some reasons:

1. If you leave Watchtower, you leave Jehovah. If you join (or re-join) Watchtower, you join (or re-join) Jehovah.
2. If you are critical of Watchtower you are critical of Jehovah.
3. If you hold up Watchtower you hold up Jehovah.
4. Watchtower says what is right and what is wrong, aligning with scripture through some imaginative interpretation and even rewriting of scripture.
5. Watchtower says that association with the organisation (Watchtower) in necessary for salvation.
6. Members who disagree with Watchtower can and do get shunned.
