    do you think imprisonment is a "lack of consequences"? children rarely think in terms of consequences es unless they've been severely brought up (with physical punishment, or if they've been nurtured to see the consequences for others and carefully warned.

    many kids never get that message/

    so yeh, consequences for actions need to be taught. merely beating a child as punishment is like using prisons; it doesn't address the ignorance of consequences.
