The topic of this thread is "Another tabloid article by the AFR on ISX" - restated because I don't want to be found "off topic".
Re-framed post:
I am having real difficulty when reading media articles (in particular AFR and SMH). I may be wrong, but:
- I can't find the facts that support the editorial reporting on ISX,
- It looks to me that the headlines are worded with a tinge of the melodramatic in order to get clicks and readers, and
- The articles' "facts" and the "truths" give rise to a more than a bit of speculation and do not align with my current research on ISX.
My criticism of these newspapers is that it appears to me that establishing facts are not a high priority. The events that support this belief are:
- The many articles in the AFR and SMH that are closely similar to each other which leaves me with the question of whether facts are checked or articles are just repeated,
- The number of articles which were created based on the OM report, the facts of which were not verified with ISX and to which the Press also did not accord ISX the chance to respond prior to repeating,
- The recent reporting on a letter to shareholders designed to keep us legally informed which was reported in a way that was interpreted by many of the "non-holder" posters as evidence of further corruption or deviousness of ISX, and
- The number of articles produced which point out that a company who is being investigated by ASIC are customers of ISX - inferring corruption by association and not pointing out that determining whether a company is corrupt or not is the obligation of ASIC, not ISX. It is ISX's obligation to point out if a transaction is transferred for a corrupt reason - ie money laundering, child exploitation, terrorism funding.
Call me paranoid – but being paranoid about something, does not mean that the “something”is not true.
I now think(it is my opinion that) there just might be a concerted approach to denigrating ISX. In the book “House of Trump, House of Putin”, Crag Unger describes the philosophies of Vladislav Surkov who served from 2011 to 2013 as deputy prime minister to Vladimir Putin.He served as the Kremlin’s chief ideologue. Surkov was to Vladimir Putin as Steve Bannon was to Trump. Surkov created a false reality consisting of fake news and alternative facts and “changed Russian politics into a bewildering, constantly changing piece of theatre...Surkov set out to destroy the very idea of reality. And by undermining the whole notion of truth, of what actually happened, Surkov was able to create a never-ending conflict about perception that helped the Putin regime’s ability to control and manage Russia......Supporters” i.e. of Putin (my addition – read ASX supporters) “who listened to lie after lie were allowed to choose whichever fiction they preferred to believe – and dismiss the rest as fake news.”
Who is it that wants to destroy ISX? Might it be:
·ASX who has a clear conflict of interest with their KYC and KYCC coming out this year and their new Chess settlement application coming out next year?
·Money Launderers, Child Exploiters, Terrorists – who do not want an application that can detect their illegal movement of cash?
·China who does not want to lose their lead in the RegTech and FinTech environment?
·The ordinary Australian that just cannot stand success and who thinks that everyone who is successful must be corrupt? or,
·An uncoordinated group of racists who just cannot stand to see a Greek person succeed.
Frankly, I am really appalled at the willingness of the many people who dismiss or don’t bother to try to find facts which can possibly provide a sense of balance to these accusations.My general faith in people doesn’t allow for a consideration that an uncoordinated group of people can just be independently lazy, destructive or ignorant.
I truly feel sorry for John Karantzis – to have worked hard to create such a viable company from scratch with such a talented group of people - and as a result – at a time when it is finally becoming successful (or because it is becoming successful), have to deal with all of this.
