The 3D image on the weekly Crux-2 drilling report is misleading because it gives the impression of drilling into a thick section of the reservoir, so everyone throught: "how can they miss". I can't paste it here but compare that to the 2-D top down view of the field on page 16 of the August 1st, 2006 presentation which shows Crux-2 (injector -1, as this well is planned as an injection well not producer) is right on the edge of the North East section of the field. So this well is truly in its nature: an appraisal well to test the extension. If it missed as it did with A-sand, no big deal as the bulk of the reservoir is still there.
