The CBS link explains who Brett McGurk is. Listen to it!  Brett's work in Iraq was white anted by an ignorant Obama before  the allies Brett secured in Syria were betrayed by Trump.  His commentary comes from the heart (he now feels like a traitor) and  knowledge gained  over many years of service.

Battlefield betrayals are the worst of the worst.  Giving away a strategic success is idiotic.  As Brett says the Kurds and their allies were doing just about all of the fighting against ISIS and there was a 75 nation coalition that could have been called upon to do more.  The US demanded that the Kurds co-ordinate the attack on al-Raqqa and they did so at Brett McGurks's request.  Many died doing so.

Within North Syrian zone, Brett also worked to displace Turkish PKK influence from the autonomous administration which had been established there.  Syrians have enough trouble of their own to be worried about the Turkish civil war and they were looking forward to continuing a largely self sufficient reconstruction phase.

Trump is a traitor of the highest order.  Brett and the US Special Forces represent the very best America has to offer.  Trump and his fascist followers represent the very worst.  It is as it is,
