    Hi Gh

I'm still not sure how anyone can answer your questions about finding scientific solutions. I'm not sure there is an answer. How on earth do we fund the research needed to slow down our ever-increasing use of fossil fuels? Wait for the private sector?

Why do we need a scientific solution?
Why do we need to have an extra tax?
It appears that we are no longer talking about stopping CO2 but stopping pollution in general?

There are a multitude of actions that the government can take to reduce pollution which do not require new scientific research or tax.

If we are only talking about burning fossil fuels the private sector have always done R & D without government money, they do it so as to make a profit and if they see the supplies running out they have two options, shut their businesses or find a solution.

The only reason that this debate is happening is that it is a smoke screen to try to hide the money angle and to make the general public think that it is their problem which it isn't
