My post was in response to dargie's post which stated that the drill is several weeks away, which I interpreted as indicating there's still lots of time to get in. So what I was trying to say is pretty much what you said, that you can't lave it till the last minute to play the buy before spud game.
Since I don't browse HC that often, I should have remembered that dargie has been in the stock for quite a while and knowing that, his comment read completely differently to how I originally read it.
Anyway, I haven't been in this stock for too long - a couple of months. As I have stated on the VPE board, I started rotating out of VPE and into PPP when they were both at 20c, which has turned out to be a great move in hindsight :)
I bought mainly for Tui, Hector is just a bonus to me if it hits the black stuff...
