Cluff Resources Pacific NL (Cluff) announces today that the ALS Ammtec Laboratory Group ("Ammtec") in Perth has advised that it expects to complete its report on the gold sample within 2 weeks. Ammtec is providing Cluff with a report which will provide a comprehensive analysis of the nature and concentration of the gold content, allowing the ideal processing techniques to maximise gold recovery from this style of deposit to be determined.
The Company was previously advised that the report was expected by the end of the month, however the comprehensive analytical processes required to produce a report of this nature for an unusually large sample (565 kg) have meant that the timetable has been extended. We will provide the market with details of the report as soon as it is made available.
Cluff has been verbally advised by Ammtec that initial tests for organic carbon and sulphides within the sample have revealed an absence of both: a positive result, indicating gold recovery will not be hindered or complicated by these elements, and prospects of maximising recovery using standard processing techniques are very good.
In the meantime, Cluff has continued to develop its operational plan for the Madagascan gold project, and successful meetings were held in Madagascar last week between Cluff personnel and local earthmoving contractors and other service providers, in anticipation of ground operations commencing once all preparations for trial mining have been finalised. The Company plans to commence operations within the next two months.
