Many don't know that Anp with Atl 1101 have patents protecting their technology.

Importantly, the granting of the European patent adds further value to ATL1101 and should increase its attractiveness to potential partners.The patent, entitled “Modulation of insulin like growth factor 1 receptor expression”, covers ANP’s compound ATL1101 until 2024.The European patent application will be registered in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. Antisense has an exclusive licence to ATL1101 for all uses and applications from its collaboration partner in the U.S., Isis Pharmaceuticals – a NASDAQ-listed company with a market cap. of US$1.4 billion and 25 drugs in development.Over 6,000 subjects have been treated with Isis’ antisense drugs. ATL1101 is a second generation antisense drug that targets the insulin-like growth factor I receptor, and has been shown in previously conducted animal studies to suppress human prostate tumour growth.The drug has potential applications in various other cancers as well as indications in certain eye diseases, where second generation antisense drugs have shown clinical benefits.ATL1101 is potentially positioned to move into clinical development in prostate cancer patients.
