The Nkout project is at the northern extent of the Archean Ntem complex, part of the Congo Craton, which also hosts the Mbalam, Nabeba and Avima projects.

Revised to 2.7 billion tonnes with a 68% increase in DSO to 252 Mt at 43.2% iron.

Nkout is 330km from Kribi and only 30km north of a proposed rail corridor stretching 510km from the 2.3bt Mbalam project to Kribi, a natural deep water port 125km south of Douala.

The significant resources from this mine could access the rail line passing nearby, which in turn could be used as a toll line to offset construction cost.

The proposed rail route runs through the Djoum III (Nkout) exploration licence. The railway will access the upgraded port at Kribi, which will be capable of accommodating bulk iron ore carriers of up to 300,000t. It has been suggested that the railway could support ~150Mt of
production per year, which could service input from a number of operations in this emerging iron ore province.

Nkout project is situated in the Mekambo iron ore orbit of West Africa. Few regions in Africa can rival this area in terms of iron ore potential – c 14bn tonnes of JORC/nonJORC resource has been defined in a 400km radius. The Nkout project accounts for 1.42bt (Exhibit 3) of this figure, and the company has quoted an exploration target of 4bt. The project is situated approximately 280km south of the Cameroonian capital of Yaoundé.

Approximately 14bt of iron ore has been identified in the Mekambo orbit, with exploration targets bringing this figure towards 20bt.
