Rather than helping, I think Oakajee could prove to be a capper on GBG's price for the next few years until it is completed. In a recent news article McTiernan was quoted stating that any expectation for Oakajee to be operational before 2014 "was optimistic/unrealistic".
Any hope of GBG ramping up shipments past the POG limits prior to 2014/15 won't be possible and makes GBG's old targets of 30-35mtpa by 2015 unrealistic.
She also stated the money the WA Gov't will now spend towards building Oakajee will prevent improvements or extensions of POG, therefore severely restricting POG's ability to boost tonnages past it's current limits.
GBG is in a catch 22 situation for the next 5 years as far as ramping up shipments.
