I wonder why holiday? The aggression is well justified. I'll explain it to you..
I for one am completely fed up with religion and religious people. I am sick of seeing it on my television, in my streets, in my parliament, in our schools, at every corner I turn. I have the right to not come across it.
You see religious people have what they want. A right to a religious freedom. To believe what they like and to practice it in their homes and churches. As much as I disagree with religion, I give you this right, this freedom, this respect, and also protection against persecution. And I would fight for you to have those rights and freedoms and protection.
I have rights and freedoms too. I have a right to live in my society free from religion. I liken it to pornography, as crass as the analogy is. If you want it you can seek it, if you seek it you can find it, some may be comfortable around it and find it acceptable, and others may not be comfortable around it and find it disgusting and perverse.
Just as there is a freedom of religion which gets respected, there is a freedom from religion that doesn't get respected.
You see all of us can have our cake here (to give another analogy). The religious already have their cake. And they then deny me my cake. Not only that. They want to take my cake away. Well you can't have it. And if you're not careful and show me the respect that I show you, then I will seriously consider taking your cake away so you know how it feels to be disrespected.
Believe me friend, this needs to be addressed because for the first time in my life I am beginning to feel a hatred building towards religious people. Do you not have what you want? Do you not receive the respect, rights, freedoms, and protection that I give you to have your religion? Yes, I give you those things and you spit in my face.
I want the future of this country to respect freedom of religion and freedom from religion. We can do both. A future in Australia where no person's religion can be determined simply by looking at them. A country that will wreak of respect.
