I support Fred Nile's campaign to avoid the clash of scripture and ethics classes. I propose that scripture classes be moved to 4pm after normal school hours. This will enable the children with religious parents to have a dose of secular ethics. And my daughter will not have to waste an hour coloring in whilst she does "non-scripture" as it is called at her school. Ethics classes are only years 5 and 6 so younger kids still go the library whilst the religious get their hour of fire, brimstone and 42 virgins and damnation of gays and women.
Actually given the stated non discriminatory policies of public schools, it is amazing that religion with its hatreds and discriminatory beliefs still gets a look in.
