Those worried about turtle nesting should take note of the following survey results. Its quite clear that the turtles love nesting on the eastern side of Groote, however on the western side where GOT wish to conduct initial exploration there are 0 turtle nests. Of course the GEMCO guys could have told you this already, as if you look at the map the green line running past their existing mining operation on the west has zero turtle nests. They'd also know that the manganese beds don't sit under a coral formation, rather a layer of sand. Of course if your in a rush to play your environmental card early in the game you'll miss these facts. Its also ironic that if you overlay the image below with a tenement map released by GOT today you'll see GEMCO have in fact the tenements abutting most of the turtle nests...no mention of that on the lobby groups site.
