I had a similar problem and decided that I could not kill them (too many of them) so all I could do was persuade them to move
Two prong attack
Pour boiling eater on the mounds
And or -
Pour kerosene down the mound, wait for about 10 minutes and then set fire to it
They got the message and shifted, no further problem and especially no poisons which are indiscriminate
