    Kohler is correct. the loss of Antarctic and Arctic ice will result in altered plankton generation, which will reduce food supply for a wide range of fish and marine mammals that rely on plankton and this will affect fish stocks around the world.

    also, the sea currents which drive climatic conditions will alter. sea ice causes upwellings of current and the effect other currents, such as that which drives the ENSO cycle. ENSO is a key climatic driver for the whole planet.

    despite the denials of deniers, ice formation and sustainability could result in loss of sea life, food production for humans, wind and weather cycles. the loss of sea ice is the result of global warming. such warming is scientifically evidenced as the result of increased greenhouse gas emissions.

    this is a major tipping point.
