    " Are you familiar with what Alan Watts describes? I think, but don't quote me, that he derived his ideas from Japanese Buddhism but then he also refers to the writings of Alexandra David-Néel who learned Tibetan Buddhism."

    I am familiar with some of what Alan Watts describes having come across him in the 60's, but never met him or had the opportunity to see whether our experiences actually corresponded.

    He seems to have spent a fairly short but intense life describing and investigating many things. A mixture of Buddhism, Chinese Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Krishnamurti, Anglican Christianity and various other interesting ideas.
    How much of all that he actually embodied I don't know, but he was certainly a very interesting and fluent speaker and knew how to captivate his chosen audience.

    Perhaps if you took the time and effort to read some of his books, it might open you to wider questions about life than your current idealism suggests ?
