Alexander Graham Bell was living in the US (and often Canada) when he invented the telephone. I believe he was in Boston when he invented it..I'm not sure of his nationality at the time....bit like calling Mel Gibson Australian or American...
It's all a bit hazy with the computer...where to draw the line...mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, digital, etc...
For television....all very interesting...but hard to draw a line. I think the British did the most impressive early progress but there were a lot of busy people from many countries doing some groundbreaking research - so take your pick:
