I think you have been brain washed by the American media.
Here are some facts on who invented and or discovered.
Electricity -
Michael Faraday is known as the Father of Electricity an English scientist..
In 1600, William Gilbert published his treatise De magnete, Magneticisique Corporibus (On the Magnet). The book explained Gilbert’s extensive research and experiments on electricity and magnetism. The book contained almost everything known so far about electricity. But he is not the Father of electricity.
The discovery of electromagnetic induction and the invention of dynamo was the reason for crowning Faraday as the Father of electricity.
Computer-
Antikythera mechanism, an ancient astronomical analog computer built by the Greeks around 80 BC.[7] The Greek mathematician Hero of Alexandria (c. 10–70 AD) built a mechanical theater which performed a play lasting 10 minutes and was operated by a complex system of ropes and drums that might be considered to be a means of deciding which parts of the mechanism performed which actions and when. This is the essence of programmability.
Blaise Pascal a french physicist invented the mechanical calculator in 1642,[9] known as Pascal's calculator, it was the first machine to better human performance of arithmetical computations[10] and would turn out to be the only functional mechanical calculator in the 17th century
Lighting-
The first electric light was made in 1800 by Humphry Davy, an English scientist. He experimented with electricity and invented an electric battery. When he connected wires to his battery and a piece of carbon, the carbon glowed, producing light. This is called an electric arc.
Telephone-
Johann Philipp Reis (January 7, 1834 – January 14, 1874) was a self-taught German scientist and inventor. In 1861, he constructed the first make-and-break telephone, today called the Reis telephone.
Cell phone-
The development of mobile telephony began in 1918 with tests of wireless telephony on military trains between Berlin and Zossen.[1] In 1924, public trials started with telephone connection on trains between Berlin and Hamburg.[1] In 1925, the company Zugtelephonie A. G. was founded to supply train telephony equipment[1] and in 1926 telephone service in trains of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and the German mail service on the route between Hamburg and Berlin was approved [1] and offered to 1st class travelers.[2]
Air Travel-
1783 was a watershed year for ballooning and aviation, between June 4 and December 1 five aviation firsts were achieved in France.
On 19 October, the Montgolfiers launched the first manned flight, a tethered balloon with humans on board, at the Folie Titon in Paris. The aviators were the scientist Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier, the manufacture manager Jean-Baptiste Réveillon, and Giroud de Villette.
On 21 November, the Montgolfiers launched the first free flight with human passengers. King Louis XVI had originally decreed that condemned criminals would be the first pilots, but Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier, along with the Marquis François d'Arlandes, successfully petitioned for the honor. They drifted 8 km (5.0 mi) in a balloon powered by a wood fire.
On 1 December, Jacques Charles and the Nicolas-Louis Robert launched their manned hydrogen balloon from the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, amid a crowd of 400,000. They ascended to a height of about 1,800 feet (550 m)[15] and landed at sunset in Nesles-la-Vallée after a flight of 2 hours and 5 minutes, covering 36 km. After Robert alighted Charles decided to ascend alone. This time he ascended rapidly to an altitude of about 3,000 metres, where he saw the sun again, suffered extreme pain in his ears, and never flew again.
